WoW Priest Professions
With Wrath of the Lich King Blizzard has tried to even out the professions, because players tended to reroll to the profession that gave the biggest benefits to them or their group in the past. To prevent this from happening again the profession bonuses of the different professions are now very close to each other.
The jewelcrafter for example received the ability to craft unique epic gems. Up to three of these gems can be put into the crafter's equipment. These epic gems provide a greater benefit to the crafter than the ordinary blue gems, allowing the jewelcrafter to tailor his stat boost to his desires.
Blacksmiths are able to forge additional sockets into their gloves and bracers, giving them more stats as well if socketed with the right gems. As they can chose any gem they desire these sockets make them very flexible , even if blacksmithing is rarely seen on a Priest. Enchanters are able to imbue their rings, which they were already able to do in Burning Crusade. Leatherworkers can sew a special fur lining into their bracers, greatly increasing their stats and costing far less than the normal bracer enchants that are replaced by this lining.
A scribe does not have to grind reputation with the Sons of Hodir, as his should enchants are much more potent.
Tailor and engineer bonuses can not be valued so easily. The tailoring cloak enchants are proc based, so depending on proc luck they can be better or worse than normal cloak enchants. Engineers get special tools with situational effects. Most of the time those gimmicks are rather lackluster and worse than the normal enchants they replace.
An alchemist gains the passive ability "mixology", which strengthens the effects or flasks and elixirs and doubles their durations.
