Holy Priests can often be identified by the beautiful angel they leave behind whenever they die. But even if people often make jokes about this "improved dieing" the Holy Priest is still a powerful healing class with huge versatility. At least since Burning Crusade Circle of Healing has become one of the signature Holy Priest spells. Especially in Sunwell Plateau, where there were huge amounts of raid damage going around, Circle of Healing forced raid leaders to tailor their groups to profit from this spell. In the wake of the great buff revamp with Wrath of the Lich King this limit has been removed: Circle of Healing has become a smart heal, healing up to sic raid members in the vicinity of the target. As this has made this spell even more powerful Blizzard was forced to give it a six second cooldown, as it would have trivialized many encounters otherwise.

But even without the ever available Circle of Healing the Holy Priest still is a very strong healing class and maybe still the most powerful group healer. One reason for this might be that the Prayer of healing can now be cast on different groups. The new ultimate 51 point talent is very strong as well, while it is still rather situational. The Guardian Spirit is able to prevent a fatal hit on a target and set it to 50% of its total health. If used at the right moment this talent can be the difference between a wipe and a kill.
